Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is also known as Vishuddha (to purify) it is the 5th chakra out the seven. Its location is between the collar bone and larynx in the neck. This chakra is about expressing yourself via communication and purpose in life.

Throat chakra has 16 turquoise petals. The first petal is the mantra OM, the next seven are mantras, and the last 8 are associated with nectar and seven musical tones. Sometimes these petals can appear aquamarine blue, smoky purple or smoky turquoise.

Having a blocked or imbalanced chakra might include:

  • Lack of control over speech

  • Not listening

  • Fear of speaking

  • Telling lies

  • Being timid/ introversion

  • Lack of connection with vocation or purpose in life

In the physical body these imbalances might show up as nose, ear, throat and respiratory problems.

When the chakra is balanced or open you truly feel one with yourself. You feel expressive with your words toward friends and loved one. Feeling more connected spiritually and projecting your creativity into the world. “Opening the throat chakra can greatly help align your vision with reality and release pressure that may affect the heart chakra that is located just below.

To clear this chakra tap it three times with your fingertips. Remember to use this tool when you are having a hard time expressing yourself. You can also wear the color blue. You can carry crystals that affect this chakra. Wearing turquoise jewelry can help open this chakra up. Best type of turquoise jewelry is a necklace. The closer it is the chakra point the better it is for healing.

A few other ways to help balance, clear or open this chakra can be simple things. One of them being drinking more water daily. This not only keeps you hydrated throughout the day, but cleanses the chakra. Which allows healthy energy to flow. Eating more fruit in your diet such as, apples, peaches, lemons and limes. Again this helps to cleanses and activate the chakra. Talking things out, writing them down, singing, or simply letting things be.
